Position(s) will be filled under the Department of the Army Pathways Intern Program.
The Department of the Army Pathways Internship Program is designed to provide students currently enrolled in a wide variety of educational institutions, from high school to graduate level, with opportunities to work and get paid while exploring federal careers through a job with the Department of Army.
The Department of the Army Pathways Interns may be converted to a permanent position within 120 days of successful completion of the program.
To be eligible for conversion to a permanent or term position, Interns must:
Be a U.S. Citizen
Complete at least 640 hours of work experience acquired through the Internship Program
Complete their degree or certificate requirements
Meet the Office of Personnel Management''s qualification standards for the position to which the Intern will be converted
Meet agency-specific requirements as specified in the Participant''s Agreement, and;
Perform their job successfully as documented through performance evaluations and/or completion of an Individual Development Plan (IDP)

Positions are open to current students in an accredited high school, college (including 4-year colleges/universities, community colleges, and junior colleges); professional, technical, vocational, and trade school; advanced degree programs; or other qualifying educational institution pursuing a qualifying degree or certificate.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Finance Center (UFC) mission is to provide responsive, professional operational finance & accounting day-to-day support for the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) worldwide. This includes the full range of customer services, payments, disbursing, accounting, and financial reporting for Civil Works and Military Programs appropriated funds, and Revolving & Trust funds. The UFC is responsible for performing research, analysis, and development, installation and systems maintenance for the Corps of Engineers FinancialManagement System (CEFMS) and the Corps of Engineers Enterprise Management Information System (CEEMIS). The UFC has the principal responsibility for setting the strategic direction and providing overall operatingfinance and accounting functions of the USACE. The UFC accomplishes this mission with a dedicated, professional staff of accountants, accounting technicians, information management personnel, and various other supportpersonnel.
As an intern, you will be a student working under the Pathways Internship Program. You will perform a variety of developmental assignments of progressive difficulty in functional specialties in accounting. Assignments are designed to improve the intern''s grasp and understanding of accountant work. You will receive continuing guidance in the methodology and performance of work assignments involving working on a wide variety of incidental and preparatory work of an Accountant designed to acquaint and develop the student in Finance and Accounting functions and other Comptroller career field functions.
Work Schedule:
Interns may work full-time or part-time schedules. (Flexible hours and days depending on the student''s academic schedule.)
US Army Corps of Engineers Pathways Intern candidates will meet the qualification requirements consistent with the OPM qualification standards applicable to the position being filled. Candidates will be required to meet the qualification standards for the position(s) for which they are applying.
For GS-4: Completion of 2 full academic years of post-high school study (60 semester hours) or an Associate''s degree in pursuit of at least a Bachelor''s degree in Accounting or closely related business field with at least 24 hours in Accounting projected at graduation.
Only degrees from an accredited college or university recognized by the Department of Education are acceptable to meet positive education requirements or to substitute education for experience. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
